Welcome to Hernando Beach, Florida – a waterfront paradise offering two distinctive lifestyles for boating enthusiasts: Direct Gulf Access and Indirect Gulf Access.
In the Direct Gulf Access section, the canals behind your home or lot are infused with saltwater, gracefully rising and falling with the tides. This means that you enjoy seamless navigation directly to the Gulf of Mexico without encountering fixed bridges or any obstructive challenges. The convenience and freedom of unimpeded boating make this section highly sought-after for those who crave an optimal boating experience.
On the other hand, the Indirect Gulf Access section features canals with freshwater, maintaining a constant level regardless of tides. To access the Gulf of Mexico from this section, you'll navigate through a unique process – utilizing a boat lift to traverse the seawall and passing under a fixed bridge. While the boat lift may have length and height restrictions, the fixed bridge poses a more significant challenge during high tide, limiting the boats that can comfortably pass beneath it.
Hernando Beach is divided into 2 major sections
Direct Gulf Access meaning the water behind your home is saltwater and goes up and down with the tides. you do not have any bridges in your way to the Gulf of Mexico.
Indirect Gulf Access meaning the water behind your home is freshwater and goes up and down with the seasons. to reach the Gulf of Mexico you go thru a boat lift then under a fixed bridge to reach the Gulf of Mexico.
